Eset graduated from Addis Ababa University, in Ethiopia, in July 2005 with a BS in Civil Engineering. She is working towards her
Masters in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Washington focusing on water resources planning and hydrology.
Her interests also include hydraulic systems modeling, urban hydrology and sustainable management. She is currently working as a
research assistant for Dr. Richard Palmer.
Eset is working on a project for the Snohomish County Public Utility District, to develop a decision support system that will
enable the SnoPUD to optimize power production revenue. This project develops a series of models that will use streamflow forecasts
and energy prices to provide reservoir operating alternatives. This undertaking will help to create a transparent and justifiable set
of operation procedures for managing the water resources in the Public Utility District.
